Today we visited Lucca, a little town in Tuscany about an hour form Florence. I’d been here about 7 years ago, and it hasn’t changed much. Full of parks and dogs and cute shops and lots of churches. . We have been in Italy for about a month now which is crazy!! We are still staying in Florence but we’ve moved to an apartment outside the city, we’re basically in the suburbs. We’ll be here for another few weeks and then we’re planning to keep trekking on to new adventures. Also, In case you were wondering, no we are not tired of pizza yet! #pizzaeveryotherday . #italy #tuscany

Well well well... today was an interesting day. I had planned our day in Lucca (a Tuscan village), you know, all the things to visit and see. We woke up late and had to leave the apartment right away without breakfast or coffee. We barely made our train and literally had to sprint to make it on time. There were 2 trains leaving at the same time and we got on the wrong one. We only noticed about 45 minutes into the trip. I grabbed my phone to check how far we are and saw we were indeed very far from Lucca. So we took the wrong train to the end of line (a longer trip then planned) hoping not to get caught and we made it to Siena in the afternoon (hungry and caffeine deprived!!). We had nothing planned so we just decided to wander and ended up stumbling across some pretty amazing views. Good think I brought my canon with me! I’ll upload some of the shots later. Went for a second run around Florence today, stopping for cappuccinos and schiacciata on the way home 🤤 and of course, snapped this from the Ponte Vecchio. rain held off for us which was awesome. Tomorrow I have my first job interview in Italy 😬 wish me luck!! . #firenze #pontevecchio #italy

So much rain!! But I guess it’s better than snow 😬 now that we are in an apartment we have been doing a bunch of cooking. It is so much fun to explore a grocery store in a different country. All kinds of delicious treasures, it’s a whole new cooking experience. I am absolutely obsessed with “stracchino” cheese, it’s like the inside of Brie, but creamier and without the moldy skin. It’s name comes from the verb “straccare” which means to collapse because when you take the cheese out of the delicate wrapper, it is so soft that it literally collapses.
