The real mccoy PSL

I made a PSL at home today because (a) I’m poor and can’t afford $5 fancy drinks and (b) Starbucks and most other café-bought PSLs are loaded with carbs, flavourings, syrups, etc. So, full disclosure, I like the taste of the PSL but I’d been holding off making on actually making one at home because I didn’t actually want to use real pumpkin. shocking gasp Canned pumpkin goo purée has always been particularly unappetizing to me.

BUT, I read yesterday that pumpkin is actual super good for you, and I’ll eat almost anything in the name of nutrition! Pumpkin low-calorie, PACKED with vitamin A and is a decent source of fibre.

Well, that means it’s time to get over my aversion of gooey orange stuff pumpkin purée, or at least hide it in a coffee! And we all know I can’t resist coffee.

Real Mccoy PSL Recipe

It is stupidly easy to make. For one 8 to 10 oz mug throw in:

  • 1 to 2 tbsp of pumpkin purée
  • 1 tbsp of maple syrup
  • 1 to 2 shots of espresso
  • sprinkle in your fave spices: I used cinnamon, allspice, cloves and nutmeg
Stir all up and then add:
  • steamed unsweetened nut milk (I like cash vanilla)

Voilà! Now back to work with my PSL and a vibey playlist in my V chic office: my bed HA!
